REG: yc :4/24/61 -7 <br />R E S O L U T ION N O. A <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CONSTRUCTION OF ADDITION TO HALL <br />OF JUSTICE AND RECORDS BY THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO <br />WHEREAS, the rapid growth of the County of San Mateo requires <br />the expansion of the Hall of Justice and Records to accommodate <br />additional court rooms and expanded jail facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the proper administration of justice and simple <br />economics demand that the departments of the court now conducted <br />in temporary quarters be furnished adequate facilities in a central <br />location with the rest of the departments and the necessary ad- <br />ministrative offices; and <br />WHEREAS, the proper administration of law enforcement neces- <br />sary for the protection of lives and property, as well as the <br />necessity of humane treatment for prisoners, requires that County <br />jail facilities be maintained at an adequate level; and <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Government has made available funds for <br />the planning of public facilities and the County of San Mateo is <br />making application to the Federal Government for funds to plan <br />the above projects; <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That this Council does hereby fully endorse and support <br />the program of the County of San Mateo for the addition to the <br />Hall of Justice and Records to provide the urgently needed court <br />room and County jail facilities. <br />2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit certi- <br />fied copies of this resolution to the County Manager. <br />
