RJC.ek.3 /20/61 -7 <br />RES GLUT I ON NO. 3338 <br />----- - - ---- -- <br />RESOLUTION STATING OPPOSITION TO INCREASE OF <br />COUNTY TAXES FOR ROAD PURPOSES <br />WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the Board of Supervisors <br />of the County of San Mateo increase the County tax rate by <br />approximately 104%. per $100 assessed valuation for the purpose <br />of creating a fund for road improvements; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of the Council of <br />the City of Redwood City that such improvements be accomplished <br />without an increase in the County tax rate; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that funds are <br />available to accomplish said purpose from other revenues con- <br />sistent with retention of the present County tax rate on real <br />property; <br />NOW, THEREF ORE ; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />The Board of Supervisors be and they are hereby requested <br />to refrain in so far as possible from imposing additional real <br />property taxes for road purposes. <br />
