<br />I'.----~ .... <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 3236 <br /> <br />COMMEMORATING CELEBRATION OF VETERANS DAY <br /> <br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, State <br /> <br />of California, that <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of California has designated NOVEMBER 11, <br />1960, a State Holiday in commemoration of VETERANS DAY; and <br /> <br />vr.HEREAS, this day has been set aside so that we may honor the <br /> <br />men and women who have borne arms and served in the defense of their <br /> <br />country in times of armed conflict; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to join in a salute to our brave <br /> <br />veterans of the armed forces to whom we owe so much; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND DETERMINED that this <br /> <br />Council, on behalf of the citizens of this city 'and freedom loving <br /> <br /> <br />people allover the world, expresses its eternal gratitude to all <br /> <br /> <br />veterans of the military service for the sacrifices they have made <br /> <br /> <br />in defense of our country and in the interest of freedom. <br /> <br />IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council urges all citizens <br /> <br />of this City to display our Nations flag, and to join in humble <br /> <br />salute to the veterans by attending the exercises of commemoration <br /> <br /> <br />to be held at Redwood City Hall Plaza on this, the day set aside in <br /> <br /> <br />their honor, to wit: VETERANS DAY. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
