<br />/~ <br /> <br />.,' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />REG:yc:9/26/60-7 <br /> <br />RESOLUT1.0N <br /> <br />N o. 3211 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING MARY GREGG THORNING ON THE <br />OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM THE, REDVlOOD CITY <br />LIBRARY BOARD <br /> <br />vrnEREAS, Mrs. Mary Gregg Thorning has faithfully and con- <br /> <br />scientiously served the City of Redwood Ci~y as a member of the <br />Library Board since her appointment in September, 1930; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Thorning served as President of the Board <br /> <br />for several terms and also as Secretary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Thorning, a Redwood City resident for over <br /> <br />forty-eight years, has continuously demonstrated her desire and <br /> <br />ability to participate in civic functions, which activities have <br /> <br />won her the Community Service Award; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Thorning's friendly personality and personal <br /> <br />integrity have won her the respect and praise of all who come <br /> <br />in contact with her; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Thorning has recently announced her resigna- <br /> <br />"tion as a member of the Redwood City Library Board; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE ; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That this Council takes the occasion of the termination of <br /> <br />Mrs. Mary Gregg Thorning's thirty years of devoted public service <br /> <br />to commend her on her outstanding performance and unselfish <br /> <br />devotion to the Redwood City Library and to the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
