<br />\p.. ............ ~.- <br />.: ',: ".".~ <br /> <br />". <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />REG:yc:6/l3/60-7 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />---------- <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />3114 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF POLICY CONCERNING SUCCESSIVE AP- <br />POIN~ffiNTS OF ~rnERS OF BOARDS AND CO}TI~ISSIONS <br /> <br />WHEREASJ it is the desire of this Council to establish a policy <br /> <br /> <br />to limit the number of terms which may be served by members of boards <br /> <br />and commissions appointed by this Council; <br /> <br />NO\^l, THEREFORE: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED\vOOD CITY <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That it is the policy of the Council of the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City that no member of a board or commission whose members <br /> <br />are appointed by this Council be appointed to more than two <br /> <br />successive terms on the same board or commission. <br /> <br />2. That notwithstanding the appointment of a menilier to two <br /> <br />successive terras, he may be reappointed to the same board or <br /> <br />commission for additional periods, not exceeding two successive <br /> <br />terms each, after a lapse of at least one year from ther termination <br /> <br />of his former membership. <br /> <br />3. 1~at the foregoing policy statement shall not be con- <br /> <br />strued to affect in any way the appointment of a board or co~mission <br /> <br />member to a different board or commission. <br /> <br />4. That for purposes of applying this policy, every member <br /> <br />of a board or commission holding such position at the time of <br /> <br />adoption of this resolution shall be deemed to be holding such <br /> <br />position for his first term. <br /> <br />5. That any holding of office as a member of a board or <br /> <br />commission shall not be considered for purposes of applying this <br />policy if it is for less than one-half of a regular term. <br /> <br />6. That the policy established by this resolution shall not <br /> <br />be construed so as to conflict with any charter, statute or ord- <br />inance provision concerning the appointment of members of any <br /> <br />board or comraission. <br /> <br />" <br />'j, <br /> <br />.. <br />~\ <br /> <br />" <br />~" <br />
