REG:yc:6/l3/60-7 RES 0 L UTI 0 N ---------- N O. 3114 RESOLUTION OF POLICY CONCERNING SUCCESSIVE AP- POIN~ffiNTS OF ~rnERS OF BOARDS AND CO}TI~ISSIONS WHEREASJ it is the desire of this Council to establish a policy to limit the number of terms which may be served by members of boards and commissions appointed by this Council; NO\^l, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED\vOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. That it is the policy of the Council of the City of Redwood City that no member of a board or commission whose members are appointed by this Council be appointed to more than two successive terms on the same board or commission. 2. That notwithstanding the appointment of a menilier to two successive terras, he may be reappointed to the same board or commission for additional periods, not exceeding two successive terms each, after a lapse of at least one year from ther termination of his former membership. 3. 1~at the foregoing policy statement shall not be con- strued to affect in any way the appointment of a board or co~mission member to a different board or commission. 4. That for purposes of applying this policy, every member of a board or commission holding such position at the time of adoption of this resolution shall be deemed to be holding such position for his first term. 5. That any holding of office as a member of a board or commission shall not be considered for purposes of applying this policy if it is for less than one-half of a regular term. 6. That the policy established by this resolution shall not be construed so as to conflict with any charter, statute or ord- inance provision concerning the appointment of members of any board or comraission.
