ORIGINAL <br /> GRANT AGREEMENT FOR EVENT AND PROMOTIONAL SERVICES <br /> Redwood City International Inc. <br /> HIS A • REE ENT is made and entered into as of the day of <br /> 61111v , 2010, by and between the REDWOOD CITY <br /> RED 0 AGENCY, a public body, corporate and politic, duly organized and <br /> existing under the laws of the State of California ( "Agency "), and Redwood City <br /> International Inc., a non - profit, 501c3 in the State of California ( "Grantee ") (collectively, <br /> the "Parties "). <br /> RECITALS <br /> WHEREAS, the mission of Redwood City International is to promote sister -city <br /> relationships between Redwood City, CA and Zhuhai, PRC and Colima, MX by hosting <br /> sister -city delegations, interns and other visitors, promoting international understanding <br /> as a member of Sister -City International, advancing cultural awareness in Redwood <br /> City's sphere of influence, and visiting China and Mexico as ambassadors from <br /> Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City and the Redwood City International will co- <br /> produced the second annual Redwood City International Latino Film Festival (RCILFF) <br /> from November 5 through 7, 2010 in downtown Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, in 2009, the Agency contributed a total of $26,000 in Agency funds <br /> to produce the first annual RCILFF. Of the total amount, $20,000 was contributed <br /> directly to the Latino Leadership Council of San Mateo County while the remaining <br /> $6,000 paid for direct expenses, including, but not limited to banner installing /removal, <br /> postcards and postage, and advertisements; and <br /> WHEREAS, Redwood City International has requested for and Agency agrees to <br /> fund the $26,000 for the November 5 -7, 2010 RCLIFF and gala kick -off event. Of the <br /> total amount, $20,000 was contributed directly to the Redwood City International while <br /> the remaining $6,000 paid for direct expenses, including, but not limited to banner <br /> installing /removal, postcards and postage, and advertisements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the RCILLF will be held within the boundaries of the Redwood City <br /> Redevelopment Project Area and the event will contribute to the Agency's goals and <br /> objectives for the Project Area. <br /> WHEREAS, Grantee has the necessary experience to organize and manage the <br /> RCILFF. <br /> WHEREAS, Grantee has submitted a proposal to Agency and has affirmed its <br /> willingness and ability to perform such work. <br /> ATTY/AGR/201 0.1 1 7 1 <br /> 10/12/10 <br />
