RJC : e c : 8/3/6 o- 7 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N N O. `175 adopted 8/8/60 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEYS <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO <br /> TO REPRESENT THE INTEREST OF THE CONSUMERS OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY BEFORE THE CALIFORNIA STATE PUBLIC <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION <br /> OF THE PACIFIC GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR AN INCREASE <br /> IN GAS RATES <br /> WHEREAS, the Pacific Gas & Electric Company in Application <br /> No. 42225 has applied to the California Public Utilities Com- <br /> mission for an increase in gas rates in the amount of $26,600,000 <br /> for the test year 1961, approximating a 20% increase in the cost <br /> of gas to the average domestic consumer and a 12% increase to <br /> other general service firm customers; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Pacific Gas & Electric Company has requested <br /> the increased rates to cover the increased cost of gas purchased <br /> from the El Paso Natural Gas Company which purchases represent <br /> approximately 75% of all gas purchased by the company, and in- <br /> creased costs of labor, materials, services, taxes and other <br /> types of expenses; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> AS F OLLOWS : <br /> That the City Attorney of the City of Redwood City and <br /> the City Attorney of the City and County of San Francisco are <br /> authorized and directed to represent the interests of the con- <br /> sumers of the City of Redwood City before the California Public <br /> Utilities Commission in the matter of the application of the <br /> Pacific Gas & Electric Company for an increase in the rates <br /> charged for natural gas service. <br /> * * * <br />
