VI - PARCEL C.1 <br /> RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redwood City, <br /> California, that <br /> WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of June, 1960, the City Manager of <br /> the City of Redwood City, publicly opened, examined and declared <br /> all sealed proposals or bids for the work to be done and improve- <br /> ments to be made as described and specified in the plans and speci- <br /> fications entitled, respectively, "City of Redwood City, California, <br /> Plans for the Construction of Parking Lot VI, Unit I and Appurte- <br /> nant Work of Parking District No. 1" and "City of Redwood City, <br /> California, Contract Documents and Specifications for the Con- <br /> struction of Unit I, Parking Lot No. VI, Parking District No. 1 ", <br /> approved by this Council on May 9, 1960, to which reference is <br /> hereby made for a description of said work and improvements and <br /> materials, supplies and equipment to be supplied therefor; <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the lowest responsible <br /> bid for said project is Pearce, McAllister & Thorsell, Inc., <br /> which submitted a bid in the total amount of $102,815.00; <br /> WHEREAS, Pearce, McAllister & Thorsell, Inc. have since <br /> indicated to this Council that their bid contained a patent error <br /> in that the bid for Item No. 9, for construction of the reinforced <br /> concrete box culvert, contained an erroneous calculation resulting <br /> in a bid of $120.00 per linear foot, while the computation shows <br /> on its face that the intended price was $220.73 per linear foot; <br /> WHEREAS, said contractor has requested that the Council allow <br /> the correction of said mathematical error and that the proposal, <br /> as corrected, be considered by the Council in awarding the con- <br /> tract; <br />
