411 • RJC:ek:10 /2/59 -7 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2886 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR WEED ABATEMENT <br /> IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK <br /> TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF SPRAYING <br /> WORK IN CONNECTION WITH WEED ABATEMENT PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, Redwood City Ordinance No. 748, entitled "An Ordinance <br /> Declaring Noxious or Dangerous Weeds to be a Public Nuisance, Providing <br /> Means for their Destruction, and Creating a Lien on Property upon <br /> which such a Nuisance Exists for the Cost of Abating same," adopted <br /> October 22, 1953, provides for a procedure whereby the eradication <br /> of undesirable vegetation in the City is to be accomplished; and, <br /> WHEREAS, in order to accomplish such weed abatement program <br /> within the City of Redwood City, it is necessary and desirable that <br /> certain spraying work be performed for the control and eradication <br /> of undesirable vegetation; and, <br /> WHEREAS, specifications for such work have been prepared by <br /> the City Engineer; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. Those certain specifications entitled "Weed Abatement, <br /> General Specifications, City of Redwood City, California," a copy <br /> of which is presently on file in the office of the City Engineer, <br /> are hereby approved. <br /> 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> advertise for bids for the performance of spraying work in accordance <br /> with the abovementioned specifications therefor, said advertisement <br /> to be in the form of that certain "Notice to Contractors" as set <br /> forth in the abovementioned specification. <br /> * * * <br />
