01/24/2011 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15088 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY TO AMEND THE GENERAL PLAN FOR REDWOOD CITY <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ( "City ") has prepared a draft Downtown <br /> Precise Plan, intended to establish zoning regulations and govern development in the <br /> downtown area of the City, and has prepared a Final Environmental Impact Report for <br /> the Downtown Precise Plan (the "Final EIR ") to evaluate the potential environmental <br /> impacts from implementation of the proposed Downtown Precise Plan and various <br /> alternatives to the proposed Downtown Precise Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, to achieve consistency between the General Plan and the proposed <br /> Downtown Precise Plan, the General Plan must be amended in several respects, as <br /> shown on Attachment "A" and Attachment "B" to this Resolution. The amendments <br /> shown on Attachment "A" would change the land use designations for several small <br /> parcels of land within and near the downtown area and conform the boundaries of the <br /> General Plan's "Mixed Use — Downtown" designation to the boundaries of the proposed <br /> Downtown Precise Plan. The amendments shown in Attachment "B" would change the <br /> text of the General Plan to conform to the development standards in the proposed <br /> Downtown Precise Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, on December 14, 2010 the Planning Commission of the City of <br /> Redwood City conducted a duly- noticed public hearing pursuant to Section 65353 of the <br /> California Government Code to consider the above - described amendment to the <br /> General Plan, adopted a Resolution of Intent to Amend the General Plan pursuant to <br /> Section 18.61 of the Redwood City Municipal Code, and adopted a resolution <br /> recommending that the City Council approve the above - described amendment to the <br /> General Plan. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby incorporated by <br /> this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> 2. That the City Council hereby amends the General Plan as described above and <br /> in Attachments "A" and "B" of this Resolution to ensure consistency between the <br /> proposed Downtown Precise Plan and the General Plan. <br /> 3.
