02/07/2011 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1130 -352 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY TO AMEND ARTICLE 60, ZONING MAP NO. 22 OF ORDINANCE <br /> NO. 1130, OF THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, AS <br /> AMENDED, TO REZONE PROPERTIES LOCATED WITHIN THE <br /> REDWOOD CITY DOWNTOWN PRECISE PLAN AREA, AS FURTHER <br /> DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE, FROM THE EXISTING ZONING <br /> DISTRICTS TO THE PLANNED COMMUNITY DISTRICT. <br /> WHEREAS, implementation of the Downtown Precise Plan requires rezoning of <br /> the properties located within the proposed Redwood City Downtown Precise Plan Area, <br /> hereinafter described, from the existing zoning districts, including but not limited to, <br /> Central Business ( "CB District "), General Commercial ( "CG District "), Central <br /> Administrative ( "CA District "), Neighborhood Commercial ( "CN District "), Central <br /> Business Retail ( "CBR District "), General Commercial - Residential ( "CG -R Combining <br /> District "), Multi - Family- Medium Density ( "R -4 District "), R -5 Multi - Family High Density <br /> ( "R -5 District "), and Public Facility ( "PF District ") to the Planned Community District ( "P- <br /> District"); and <br /> WHEREAS, on December 14, 2010, the Planning Commission of the City of <br /> Redwood City, having reviewed and considered the proposed rezoning, and after a <br /> duly- noticed public hearing, recommended to the City Council that the City Council <br /> adopt an ordinance amending the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance to rezone the <br /> properties within the proposed Downtown Precise Plan area as described herein; and <br /> WHEREAS, after a duly noticed public hearing on January 24, 2011, the City <br /> Council of the City of Redwood City ( "City Council ") having considered the evidence <br /> received at the public hearing for said proposed rezoning, finds that the proposed <br /> rezoning is in the public interest and consistent with the purposes of the Redwood City <br /> Zoning Ordinance. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> HEREBY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby <br /> incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> SECTION 2. Pursuant to Article 41 of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, the <br /> City Council hereby adopts an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance (Ordinance No. <br /> 1130, as amended), Article 60, Map No. 22, of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, as <br /> amended, in the manner proposed and referenced as follows: <br /> Atty/Ord/Ord. 343 <br /> ORD # 1130 -352 <br /> 011911 FORMERLY MUFF # 703 <br />
