02/07/2011 ORIGINAL ORDINANCE NO. 1130 -352 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO AMEND ARTICLE 60, ZONING MAP NO. 22 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1130, OF THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED, TO REZONE PROPERTIES LOCATED WITHIN THE REDWOOD CITY DOWNTOWN PRECISE PLAN AREA, AS FURTHER DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE, FROM THE EXISTING ZONING DISTRICTS TO THE PLANNED COMMUNITY DISTRICT. WHEREAS, implementation of the Downtown Precise Plan requires rezoning of the properties located within the proposed Redwood City Downtown Precise Plan Area, hereinafter described, from the existing zoning districts, including but not limited to, Central Business ( "CB District "), General Commercial ( "CG District "), Central Administrative ( "CA District "), Neighborhood Commercial ( "CN District "), Central Business Retail ( "CBR District "), General Commercial - Residential ( "CG -R Combining District "), Multi - Family- Medium Density ( "R -4 District "), R -5 Multi - Family High Density ( "R -5 District "), and Public Facility ( "PF District ") to the Planned Community District ( "P- District"); and WHEREAS, on December 14, 2010, the Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City, having reviewed and considered the proposed rezoning, and after a duly- noticed public hearing, recommended to the City Council that the City Council adopt an ordinance amending the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance to rezone the properties within the proposed Downtown Precise Plan area as described herein; and WHEREAS, after a duly noticed public hearing on January 24, 2011, the City Council of the City of Redwood City ( "City Council ") having considered the evidence received at the public hearing for said proposed rezoning, finds that the proposed rezoning is in the public interest and consistent with the purposes of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY HEREBY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. SECTION 2. Pursuant to Article 41 of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, the City Council hereby adopts an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance (Ordinance No. 1130, as amended), Article 60, Map No. 22, of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, as amended, in the manner proposed and referenced as follows: Atty/Ord/Ord. 343 ORD # 1130 -352 011911 FORMERLY MUFF # 703
