DES:yc:4 /9/71 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> Mk 12 '71 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N N O. 4 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br /> AGREEMENT AMENDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY AND SAN MATEO COUNTY SCAVENGER COMPANY RELATING <br /> TO INCREASE IN RATES FOR GARBAGE AND REFUSE COLLECTION <br /> SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City and the San Mateo County <br /> Scavenger Company have heretofore entered into an agreement dated <br /> July 1, 1957, and amended by that certain amendment to agreement <br /> dated February 20, 1968, for garbage and refuse collection services <br /> by said Company; and <br /> WHEREAS, said Company has requested an increase in the <br /> collection rates set forth in said agreement as amended and has <br /> submitted a financial analysis in support of said request, which <br /> analysis has been reviewed by the City; and <br /> • WHEREAS, it has been recommended to this Council that, based <br /> on said financial analysis and review thereof, certain rate increases <br /> be granted; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to <br /> approve and authorize an amendment of said agreement dated July 1, <br /> 1957, and superseding in certain particulars the aforesaid <br /> amendment thereto dated February 20, 1968, to provide for the <br /> increase of certain collection rates; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> • <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. This Council hereby finds and determines, in accordance <br /> with the terms of the above mentioned agreement, as amended, that <br /> the proposed rates are fair to the residents of the City of <br /> Redwood City, and are required to maintain proper operating ratio between <br /> collections and expenses of the San Mateo County Scavenger <br /> Company in the performance of said contract. <br />
