08/23/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9 a - 1 '? - 4 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF AGREEMENT FOR FIRSTSTOP - SMALL BUSINESS LEGAL <br />ASSISTANCE <br />(LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF SAN MATEO COUNTY) <br />WHEREAS, Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County (Contractor) conducts a <br />conducts a technical assistance and legal advice program to assist low income residents <br />of Redwood City to establish their own business (the Program); and <br />WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in order to conduct <br />the Program during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires to <br />allocate to Contractor, the sum of Fifteen Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($15,000.00) <br />from its Community Development Block Grant funds for the foregoing purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, an agreement providing for such funding has been presented to, and <br />reviewed by, this Council; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to approve said <br />agreement and authorize its execution; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />
