08/27/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1 a -4 9 9 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF AGREEMENT FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND <br />TRAINING FOR MICROENTERPRISES (SMALL BUSINESS <br />DEVELOPMENT CENTER) <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT/ <br />CANADA COLLEGE <br />WHEREAS, San Mateo County Community College District/Canada College <br />(Contractor) conducts a job training program to assist residents of the City of Redwood <br />City in creating small businesses (the Program); and <br />WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in order to conduct the <br />Program during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires to <br />allocate to Contractor, the sum of One Hundred Twenty Thousand no /100 Dollars <br />($120,000.00) from its Community Development Block Grant funds for the foregoing <br />purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, an agreement providing for such funding has been presented to, and <br />reviewed by, this Council; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to approve said <br />agreement and authorize its execution; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />
