<br /> BEING THE ZONING ORDINANCE
<br /> OF SAID CITY.
<br /> The Council of Redwood City do
<br /> ordain as follows:
<br /> Section 1: Ordinance No. 600 of the
<br /> City of Redwood City, as amended,
<br /> is hereby amended as follows:
<br /> A—By amending Section 2.1 of
<br /> said ordinance to make it read
<br /> as follows:
<br /> SECTION 2.1. The several dis-
<br /> tricts into which the City is hereby
<br /> divided are designated as follows:
<br /> Single Family Residential Districts,.
<br /> hereinafter referred to as R-1 Dis-
<br /> tricts; Two Family Residential Dis-
<br /> tricts, hereinafter referred to as
<br /> R-2 Districts; Multiple Residence
<br /> Districts, hereinafter referred to
<br /> as R-3 Districts; Multiple Family
<br /> Residential Districts, hereinafter
<br /> referred to as R-4 Districts; Lim-
<br /> ited Commercial Districts herein-
<br /> after referred to as C-1 Districts;
<br /> Central Commercial Districts, here-
<br /> inafter referred to as C-2 Districts;
<br /> General Commercial Districts,
<br /> hereinafter referred to as C-3 Dis-
<br /> tricts; and Industrial or Manufac-
<br /> turing Districts, hereinafter re-
<br /> ferred to as M Districts; and Un-
<br /> classified Districts, hereinafter re-
<br /> ferred to as U Districts; Combin-

<br /> ' The following regulations shall
<br /> apply in all districts with which
<br /> are combined "-H" districts, in
<br /> /(;cI,Ik addition to the regulation herein-
<br /> before specified therefor, and shall
<br /> be subject to the provisions of
<br /> Section 15, of this Ordinance; pro-
<br /> vided, however, that if any of the
<br /> regulations specified in this sec-
<br /> C l e k off the City oft/Redwood City lion differ from any of the cor-
<br /> responding regulations specified in
<br /> this Ordinance for any district
<br /> with which is combined an "-H"
<br /> district, then in such case the
<br /> provisions of this section shall.
<br /> govern.
<br /> (a) Uses Permitted:
<br /> All uses permitted in the respec-
<br /> tive districts with which the "-H"
<br /> district is combined, subject to
<br /> approval of the design of the build-
<br /> ing and parking lot, provided how-
<br /> ever, as follows:
<br /> 1. Off-street parking shall be re-
<br /> quired in all districts with which
<br /> the "-H" district is combined, ac-
<br /> cording to the following formula:
<br /> (1) Retail Stores, 1 parking spade
<br /> for each 200 sq. ft. and 1 load-
<br /> ing space for each 10,000 sq. ft.
<br /> of store floor area.
<br /> (2) Office buildings, 1 parking
<br /> space for each 500 sq. ft, of
<br /> floor area.
<br /> .(3) Wholesale and industry, 1 park-
<br /> ing space for each 5 employees
<br /> and 1 loading space for each
<br /> 10,000 sq. ft. of floor area.
<br /> (4) Restaurants, 1 parking space
<br /> for each 4 seats.
<br /> (5) Public Assembly, 1 parking
<br /> space for each 10 seats.
<br /> (6) Theatres, 1 parking space for
<br /> each 10 seats.
<br /> (7) Hotels, 1 parking space for
<br /> each 4 guest rooms.
<br /> (8) Hospitals, 1 parking space for
<br /> each 1,000 sq. ft. of floor area.
<br /> (9) Clinics, 1 parking space for
<br /> each 500 sq. ft. of floor area.
<br /> (b) Building Location:
<br /> In case no building line is es-
<br /> tablished by the Street and High-
<br /> way Plan of the Master Plan of
<br /> the City or by the provisions of
<br /> this Ordinance for the street on
<br /> which any building will front, in
<br /> any district with which an "-H"
<br /> district is combined, no such build-
<br /> ing shall be erected, constructed,
<br /> moved or structurally altered, so
<br /> that the same shall be closer to
<br /> the line of such street than a dis-
<br /> tance to provide adequate space
<br /> for the traffic movements and the
<br /> standing of vehicles which will be
<br /> incidental to the use of such build-
<br /> ing. Such distance to be designated
<br /> by the Planning Commission as a
<br /> part of the action on plans sub-
<br /> mitted with the application for a
<br /> permit for such building, as pro-
<br /> vided in Section 17 of this Ordi-
<br /> nance.
<br /> C—By adding thereto under Sec-
<br /> tion 28 thereof the following:
<br /> • Off Street Parking: Accessible
<br /> parking space provided off the
<br /> street, adequate for the parking of
<br /> a car or cars, together with proper
<br /> and adequate access thereto.
<br /> Parking Space: A space of not
<br /> less than eight (8) feet by eighteen
<br /> (18) feet located off the street with
<br /> proper access for the parking of
<br /> an automobile.
<br /> Section 2: This ordinance shall be
<br /> in full force and effect from and after
<br /> thirty (30) days after its passage and
<br /> adoption.
<br /> The above and foregoing ordinance
<br /> was duly introduced by the Council of
<br /> the City of Redwood City on the 7th
<br /> day of November, 1949, and a public
<br /> hearing thereon will be held on the
<br /> 21st day of November, 1949, at 8:00
<br /> o'clock p.m. at the Council Chamber
<br /> in the City Hall in said City, or on
<br /> such other date, if any, to which the.
<br /> matter may be postponed.
