M y RJC.ek 3/24/64 -7 O R D I N A N C E N O: 1 ' " AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY BY ADDING THERETO ARTICLE IX RELATING TO FILLING SAN FRANCISCO BAY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 18 of the Code of - the City of Redwood City is hereby amended by adding thereto Article IX, commencing at Section 18.50, to read as follows: "ARTICLE IX. Section 18.50. Filling of Bay Lands. No lands within the limits of San Francisco Bay in the City of Redwood City shall be filled or otherwise reclaimed unless a variance is granted by the City Council pursuant to Chapter 30, Article I, Section 30.6 of this Code. For the purpose of this section San Francisco Bay shall consist of all that area under the waters of the Bay situated northeasterly of the historic levee line as designated on the map set forth in Section 2 of Ordinance No.1129 , a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk. In acting upon any application for variance, the City Council shall find and consider the effect of such fill upon the navigational, recreational and sanitary factors applicable to Bay waters in addition to those factors which it must consider pursuant to the provisions of the abovementioned Section 30.6 of this Code." Section 2. For the purpose of filling of Bay lands, San Francisco Bay shall consist of all that area situated north- easterly of the historic levee line separating the lands of Redwood City from the waters of San Francisco Bay, as said line is designated on the following map entitled "Levee Line, San Francisco Bay, Redwood City, California," which map is attached hereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth herein verbatim.
