06/13/2011 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2364 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE REDWOOD CITY <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ADVERTISING AND SIGNS <br /> The City Council of Redwood City makes the following findings: <br /> WHEREAS, a purpose in amending the Advertising and Sign Ordinance is to <br /> clarify that the regulations articulated in Section 3.152 with respect to public property are <br /> not obviated due to the definition of "signs" in the ordinance; and <br /> WHEREAS, a purpose of these amendments is to protect and preserve the first <br /> amendment rights of others in accessing materials contained in and distributed through <br /> newspaper racks. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES <br /> ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The designated sections and subsections of the Redwood City <br /> Municipal Code shown below are hereby amended by adding the text shown in bold <br /> italics (example) and deleting the text shown in strikeout (example). Text in brackets <br /> [example] is explanatory and is not part of the text. <br /> Section 2. Section 3.60 (DEFINITIONS) is hereby amended as follows: <br /> The following words and terms as used in this Article shall have the meanings <br /> stated in this Section. <br /> [Text starting with definition of "ABANDONED SIGN" through Subsection K of "SIGN," <br /> remains unchanged.] <br /> M.
