08/27/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1 a-is6 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF SAN MATEO COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County is a private, non - profit <br />organization that provides legal services to the poor and disadvantaged of San <br />Mateo County, which services are in furtherance of the public health, welfare and <br />benefit; and <br />WHEREAS, Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County has requested financial <br />assistance for use by it in conducting its activities during the fiscal year commencing <br />July 1, 2001 and ending June 30, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires <br />to enter into an agreement with Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County to provide <br />financial assistance in furtherance of its public purposes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and Legal <br />Aid Society of San Mateo County, a copy of which agreement is on file in the office <br />of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars <br />thereof, is hereby approved and the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby <br />authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br />Reso -0119 <br />F /Shared /Redwood /Council <br />FXS -dr <br />08/02/01 <br />
