08/27/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14352 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH FRIENDS FOR YOUTH <br />WHEREAS, Friends for Youth is a private, non - profit organization that <br />provides support to at -risk youth by creating and cultivating long -term, one -to -one <br />friendships with adult volunteer mentors, which services are in furtherance of the <br />public health, welfare and benefit; and <br />WHEREAS, Friends for Youth has requested financial assistance for use by it <br />in conducting its activities during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2001 and ending <br />June 30, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires <br />to enter into an agreement with Friends for Youth to provide financial assistance in <br />furtherance of its public purposes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and Friends <br />for Youth, a copy of which agreement is on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which <br />copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars thereof, is hereby approved <br />and the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute <br />the same on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br />Reso -0115 <br />F: /Shared /Redwood /Council <br />FXS -dr <br />08/02/01 <br />
