DUPLICATE ORIGINAL <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> CITiES OF REDWOOD CITY A1VD SAN CARLOS FOR FIRE & EMERGENCY <br /> SERVICES <br /> This Agreement ("AgreemenY') is entered into as of , 2011, by and <br /> between the Ciry of Redwood City a charter city and municip co oration of the State of <br /> California (the "REDWOOD CITY"), and the City of San Carlos, a ir�xfiicipal cocporation ("SAN <br /> CARLOS"), collectively "Participating Agencies." <br /> RECITALS <br /> WHEREAS, the Participating Agencies are public corporations organized and operating <br /> under the laws of the State of California; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Participating Agencies have the authority to perform fire protection <br /> activities, emergency medical services, and other related activities for their respective agencies; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Participating Agencies agree that San Carlos will maintain at its sole cost <br /> a Fire Department sufficient to provide certain emergency and non-emergency services as more fully set <br /> forth herein and that Redwood Ciry will provide management and administrative support to the San Carlos <br /> Fire Department as more fully set forth herein; and <br /> WHEREAS, this contractual arrangement is intended to achieve an effective and efficient <br /> delivery of service to the benefit of both cities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Participating Agencies desire to formalize the delivery of certain fire and <br /> emergency services pursuant to this Agreement. <br /> Now therefore, the Participating Agencies, for and in consideration of the mutual benefits, <br /> covenants and agreements set forth herein, agree as follows: <br /> 1. Scope of Services. <br /> (a) San Carlos agrees to retain a fire department including certain personnel and <br /> infrastructure at its sole cost sufficient to provide certain emergency and non-emergency services, <br /> as more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br /> reference. <br /> (b) Redwood City agrees to provide to San Carlos certain fire and emergency services <br /> such as fire administration and support, fire prevention, investigation, and training as more <br /> particularly descried in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> ATTY/AGR/2011.049/SAN CARLOS FIRE <br /> 061611 <br />
