ORIGINAL AGREEMENT WITH PENINSULA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FOR FUNDING TO ACQUIRE VACANT LAND /j THI~ AGREEMENT, made and entered into this ~ day of ./¢_//~,, ,1998, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a munietpal corporation of the State of California, ("City"), and PENINSULA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY:, a Cal/foroia nonprofit corporation, ("Contractor"). WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 570.201 of the Code of Federal Regulations for the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) Program, funding assistance may be used to fund eligible activities to be carried out by private non-profit entities which are duly organized to undertake affordable housing development or public agencies; and WHEREAS, the City's Consolidated Plan goals include expanding the supply of affordable housing for large family households; a~d WHERF.~S, Peninsula Habitat for Humanity/~has applied for funding assistance under the CDBG Program to acquire a-vacant p~rcal of land in the City of Redwood City; WHEREAS, Peninsula Habitat for Humanity2has an option to purchase 201 McEvoy Street, (the "Property"), a vacant parcel located in Census Tract 6107, owned by the City of Redwood City in the City of Redwood City, California; and WHEREAS, the City Council of City, on May 19, 1997, by Resolution No. 13091, approved the set-aside of One Hundred Thousand and no/100 Dollars $100,000 FY 97-98 CDBG funds for Peninsula Habitat for Humanity?~r property acquisition and to build affordable ownership housing; an~. WHEREAS, Peninsula Habitat for Humanity)"will build a single family dwelling on the property for sale to a very Iow incdme household currently residing within the city limits of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, the following exhibits am attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein: Exhibit A: Program Services Exhibit B: Method of Payment Exhibit C: Grant Deed Exhibit C-1:Addendum to Grant Deed
