09/12/2011 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15142 - <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON <br /> OAK AVENUE AT ITS WEST MOST INTERSECTION WITH <br /> CLINTON STREET <br /> WHEREAS, Section 21354 of the California Vehicle Code allows local <br /> authorities to designate any intersection under their exclusive jurisdiction as a <br /> stop control intersection; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 26.07, of the Citv of Redwood Citv Policv and Guidelines for <br /> Stop Signs on Residential Streets, states: <br /> The use of Yie/d or Stop signs should be considered at locations where <br /> • The total vo/ume on the major (busier) street approaches is at least 1,000 <br /> vehicles per day, but not more than 4,000, and the total volume on the minor <br /> street approaches is at least 900 vehicles per day, and at least one of the <br /> following conditions exist,� and <br /> • When 3 or more accidents of types correctable by all-way stop control have <br /> occurred at the intersection within a recent 12-month period; for intersections <br /> within 800 feet of a school (K-12), the threshold is 2 or more accidents; and <br /> WHEREAS, City staffs investigation has confirmed the existence of this <br /> condition at the intersection of Oak Avenue and Clinton Street, and that traffic <br /> operations will benefit from the installation of three-way stop signs at the intersection of <br /> Oak Avenue and Clinton Street. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1.
