09/19/2011 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15148 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY VACATING A PUBLIC SERVICE EASEMENT ON "PARCEL 2" <br /> NEAR MARINE PARKWAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ROUTE <br /> 101/RALSTON AVENUE INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ("City") is the record owner of the property, <br /> as provided in Document No. 2004101440 in the Official Records of San Mateo County <br /> on May 18, 2004; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Ciry of Redwood City was the lead agency on the Route <br /> 101/Ralston Avenue Interchange Improvements Project; and <br /> WHEREAS, the work of the Route 101/Ralston Avenue Interchange <br /> Improvements Project involves various land transfers to the State of California for the <br /> purposes of highway interchange improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Council accepted the work of the Route 101/Ralston Avenue <br /> Interchange Improvements Project on March 24, 2008; and <br /> WHEREAS, a condition for authorization to construct the interchange <br /> improvements is that land underneath those improvements be granted to the State of <br /> California; and <br /> WHEREAS, a condition for authorization to construct the interchange <br /> improvements is that land granted to the state be free of easements and restrictions; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, to effectuate the above-mentioned grants to the State, the City must <br /> vacate a portion of a 5 foot wide public service easement, identified as Parcel 2 and <br /> depicted and described on Exhibit "A", attached hereto ("Vacation Area"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has determined that the Vacation Area identified above is <br /> excess; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are no public facilities located within the Vacation Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 8333(c) of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of <br /> California allows a city to summarily vacate a public service easement if "the easement <br /> ATTYIRES02156/SUMMARY VACATION Reso. # 15148 <br /> 082211 MUFF # 608 <br /> 1 <br />
