RESOLUTION NO, 10 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION of THE CITY OF <br />R EDWOOD CITY To THE CITY COUNCIL of THE CITY of REDW <br />CITY RECOMMENDING DING AP PRO AL of AN AMENDMENT TO <br />THE <br />STRATEGIC GENERAL PLAN of THE CITY of REDWOOD CITY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ("UW) has prepared a draft <br />I Downtown <br />Precise Plan, intended to establish zoning regulations and govern development anent f n the <br />downtown area of the City, and has prepared a Final Environmental Impact Report for <br />the Redwood Cfty Downtown Precise Plan (the 'Final EIR" ) to evaluate ` <br />the potential <br />environmental fompacts from implementation of the proposed Downtown Precise Plan <br />and various alternatives to the proposed Do wntown Precise Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City the "'Commission" <br />has <br />reviewed and considered the draft Downtown Precise Plan and the Final EI F <br />and has <br />developed recommendations W the City Council of the City regarding the carne* <br />,and <br />WHEREAS, alter a duly noticed public hearing on December 14 , 2 010, the <br />Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City (the "Cornrnisslon") re <br />mended <br />certification of the Final Environmental impact Report for the Redwood City Do <br />Precise Plan; <br />WHEREAS, upon review of the proposed Downtown Precise Plan and <br />the Final <br />EIR, and concurrently with this Resolution, the Planning Commission inten <br />dS to <br />recommend to the City Council that the City Council ap prove a modified version of the <br />proposed D owntown Precise Plan which reflects the changes to the r <br />� oposed <br />Downtown Precise Pram described in the alternatives analysis of the Final E� <br />�� � , as <br />Alternative . (hereafter, the odrled Downtown Precise Plan") the implementation <br />P tation <br />of which would be expected to result in fearer and less severe environment l 1paci <br />than the levels of development that gold be permitted under the "Mi Use <br />Downtown" designation in the General Plan} <br />WHEREAS, to achieve consistency between the General Plan and the III if' <br />od red <br />Downtown Precise Plan, the General Plan must be amended In several rep <br />pects, as <br />shown on Attachment "A" and Attachment "B" to this Resolution. The amendments <br />shown on Attachment "An would change the land use designations for several a ll <br />parcels of land within and near the downtown area and conform the boundaries of t <br />"Mixed the <br />General Plans Mixed lase — Downtown" designation to the boundaries of the Modi <br />Downtown Precise Plan. The amendments shown in Attachment #`13 would chan the <br />text of the General Plan to conform the development standards in the General Plan <br />to <br />the development standards In the ll drfied Downtown Precise Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18.61 of the Redwood Cr Municipal Co <br />� p de the <br />Planning Commission has adopted a resolution of intention to amend the General Plan; <br />120810 <br />
