10/13/2003 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14557 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING REVISED ENGINEERING <br />STANDARDS FOR THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND RESCINDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 13267 <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, those certain documents entitled, "Standard Technical <br />Specifications ", "City Standard Details ", and "Design Criteria ", effective January 5, 1998 <br />and collectively described as the "Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City ", <br />have been revised by staff in order to meet current City and State Codes and to contain <br />the latest technology in materials and methods of construction for public works projects; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, revisions to the Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City <br />include the following: <br />1. Details for parkway style sidewalks <br />2. Sidewalk repair <br />3. Street lighting with low pressure sodium vapor lamps <br />4. Breakaway sign posts <br />5. Root barriers for street trees <br />6. Fire hydrants with larger outlets <br />7. Double check calve backflow prevention on water lines <br />8. Storm water discharge regulations <br />9. Fire truck turn - arounds <br />10.
