09/10/2012 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15215 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE <br /> AMOUNT OF $215,000 WITHIN THE REDWOOD CITY CAPITAL <br /> PROJECTS FUND FOR THE VIRTUAL DESKTOP <br /> INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, a fund known as the Capital Projects Fund has been <br /> established; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City's current desktop technology consists of traditional <br /> PCs and the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure can provide several benefits and cost <br /> savings over the traditional PCs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Information Technology Division of Finance has <br /> successfully implemented a Virtual Desktop environment for the public terminals <br /> at the main Library; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Information Technology Division desires to deploy the <br /> necessary infrastructure needed to create the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure <br /> throughout the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, City staff has requested that the City Council approve an <br /> appropriation from the Capital Projects Fund for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure <br /> Project in the amount of two-hundred and fifteen ($215,000) dollars for the <br /> purposes of this project. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, B� IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1.
