09/24/2012 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15221 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AUTHORIZING THE POLICE CHIEF TO EXPEND $16,773 OF <br /> BYRNE JAG FUNDS IN FISCAL YEAR 2012-2013 <br /> WHEREAS, the Redwood City Police Department has applied for a Byrne <br /> Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne JAG) in the amount of$16,773; and <br /> WHEREAS, grant funds may be used for the purchase of police <br /> equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, Council finds that the proposed expenditures will be for <br /> police equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Chief of Police to use Byrne <br /> JAG funds for the purchase of police equipment, specifically for duty weapon <br /> lights and holsters to be issued to sworn personnel; and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 24, 2012, the City Council held a public <br /> hearing to consider the application for and expenditure grant funds in the <br /> amount of$16,773. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1.
