CGM:dp:4/25/78 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N N O. 8049 <br /> MAY 1 1978 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF PROPERTY <br /> LINE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> (STATE LANDS COMMISSION) AND WESTERN REAL ESTATE DEVELOP- <br /> MENT CORPORATION RELATING TO PROPERTIES IN THE VICINITY <br /> OF WALNUT STREET, VETERANS BOULEVARD, AND REDWOOD CREEK, <br /> IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> WHEREAS , the City of Redwood City was granted in trust, <br /> pursuant to Chapter 34 , Statutes of 1954 (1st Extra Session) , <br /> certain lands by virtue of said State' s sovereignty therein, in <br /> the vicinity of Walnut Street, Veterans Boulevard and Redwood Creek <br /> in the City of Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS , a boundary dispute with respect to private lands in <br /> the vicinity of the aforementioned lands held in trust by the <br /> City, has arisen between the State of California and Western <br /> Real Estate Development Corporation as to the title to certain <br /> portions of real property which were granted by the State to the <br /> City in the aforementioned State land grant; and <br /> WHEREAS , the State and City have reviewed the title issues <br /> and the State has recommended to the City that the title contro- <br /> versy to the aforementioned lands be settled through an agreement <br /> exchanging lands between the State acting by and through its State <br /> Lands Commission, the City and Western Real Estate Development <br /> Corporation; and <br /> WHEREAS , it is the understanding of the City, State , and <br /> Western Real Estate Development Corporation that this agreement <br /> exchanging lands is to be accomplished in connection with (1) a public <br /> agency permit to be issued to City by the State acting by and <br /> through its State Lands Commission and (2) a maintenance agreement <br /> between City and Western Real Estate Development Corporation through <br /> which Western shall assume and be responsible for City ' s obligations <br /> so 0I9 <br />
