ORIGIIVAL <br /> MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br /> JOHN W.GARDNER CENTER FOR YOUTH AND THEIR COMMUNITIES, STANFORD <br /> UNIVERSITY, REDWOOD CITY 2020 AND CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ACTING AS FISCAL <br /> AGENT FOR REDWOOD CITY 2020 <br /> This EMORANDUM OF U DER TANDING ("MOU") is made and entered into as of the <br /> day of 2013 by and between JOHN W. GARDNER <br /> CENTER FO YOUTH AND THEI OMMU TIES, STANFORD UNIVERSITY ("JGC") REDWOOD <br /> CITY 2020 (a collaboration compn ed of eight partners, including City of Redwood, Redwood City <br /> Elementary School District, Sequoia Union High School District, County of San Mateo Health and <br /> Human Services, Sequoia Heaithcare District, John W. Gardner Center for Youth and their <br /> Communities — Stanford University, Kaiser Permanente, First 5 of San Mateo County and CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD ("City") Acting as Fiscal Agent for Redwood City 2020. Collectively JGC, Redwood City <br /> 2020, and City are hereinafter referred to as the"Parties." <br /> Redwood City 2020's funding of the Healthy Corner Store Makeover Evaluation in the Amount of <br /> $10,000. <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. Redwood City 2020 is a Community Collaborative that coordinates the delivery of <br /> services to children, youth and families living in the City of Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, an <br /> unincorporated area adjacent to Redwood City. Redwood City 2020 is made up of eight partners, <br /> including City of Redwood City, Redwood City Elementary School District, Sequoia Union High School <br /> District, County of San Mateo Heaith and Human Services, Sequoia Healthcare District, John W. <br /> Gardner Center for Youth and their Communities—Stanford University, Kaiser Permanente, and First <br /> 5 of San Mateo County to provide leadership and oversight necessary to develop a coordinated <br /> approach to strengthen academic and social outcomes for children and youth living within the <br /> attendance area of the Redwood City School District and provide valuable resources to families so <br /> they can be successful primary caregivers to their children. <br /> B. City serves as fiscal agent for Redwood City 2020 and as such contracts for services <br /> required by Redwood City 2020. <br /> C. Redwood City 2020 desires to provide $10,000 to fund the Healthy Corner Store <br /> Makeover Evaluation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants contained <br /> herein,the Parties agree as follows: <br /> ARTICLE I—BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES <br /> JGC seeks funding from Redwood City 2020 to fund the Healthy Corner Store Makeover evaluation <br /> for the 2012-2013 school years in the amount of$10,000. JGC will provide research and evaluation to <br /> examine and study the effects of the two completed corner store makeovers in North Fair Oaks on <br /> store makeovers. <br /> 1. Term. Unless earlier terminated, the term of this MOU is from the date first above written <br /> through October 31, 2013. <br /> 2. Services. John W.
