ORIGIN�L ���- <br /> ���� <br /> �l 1 <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, REDWOOD CITY 2020,AND CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> ACTING AS FISCAL AGENT FOR REDWOOD CITY 2020 <br /> �This AGREEMENT is made and entered into as of the��day of <br /> 2013 by and between REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT ("RCSD" ED OOD <br /> CIT 2020 (a collaboration comprised of eight partners, including City of Redwood, Red od City <br /> Elementary School District, Sequoia Union High School District, County of San Mateo Health and <br /> Human Services, Sequoia Healthcare District, John W. Gardner Center for Youth and their <br /> Communities—Stanford University, Kaiser Permanente, and First 5 of San Mateo County), and CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD ("City") Acting as Fiscal Agent for Redwood City 2020. Collectively RCSD, Redwood <br /> City 2020, and City are hereinafter referred to as the"Parties." <br /> SUBJECT: Funding of the Redwood City School DistricYs "Ready Schools Team Transition to <br /> Kindergarten" Initiative ("RST") designed to develop and implement a district-wide plan to support <br /> students and families as they transition to kindergarten. Financial support for this RST initiative was <br /> received from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation/First 5 Bridges to Success initiative in the <br /> amount of$30,000. <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. Redwood City 2020 is a Healthy Community Collaborative that coordinates the <br /> delivery of services to children, youth and families living in the City of Redwood City and North Fair <br /> Oaks, an unincorporated area adjacent to Redwood City. Redwood City 2020 is made up of eight <br /> partners, including City of Redwood City, Redwood City Elementary School District, Sequoia Union <br /> High School District, County of San Mateo Health and Human Services, Sequoia Healthcare District, <br /> John W. Gardner Center for Youth and their Communities—Stanford University, Kaiser Permanente, <br /> and First 5 of San Mateo County to provide leadership and oversight necessary to develop a <br /> coordinated approach to strengthen academic and social outcomes for children and youth living within <br /> the attendance area of the Redwood City School District and provide valuable resources to families so <br /> they can be successful primary caregivers to their children. <br /> B. City serves as fiscal agent for Redwood City 2020 and as such contracts for services <br /> required by Redwood City 2020. <br /> C. Redwood City 2020 desires to provide $30,000 to fund the Ready Schools Team <br /> Transition to Kindergarten initiative within the Redwood City School District. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants contained <br /> herein,the Parties agree as follows: <br /> ARTICLE I—BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES <br /> Redwood City 2020 provides funding (received from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation/First 5 <br /> Bridges to Success initiative) to RCSD to support the RST initiative for the development and <br /> implementation of a district-wide transition plan for the 2012 - 2013 school year in the amount of <br /> $30,000. The RST will provide information and presentations to community providers of Preschool <br /> Programs, Pre-K, and Kindergarten teachers within the RCSD to integrate preschool and elementary <br /> programs to ensure successful transitions for children and families by implementing best practices <br /> and effective strategies. <br /> 1. Term.
