Memorandum of Understandinq <br /> Between the Western Municipal Water District ("Western") <br /> and the City of Redwood City ("Redwood City") <br /> for Participation in the <br /> Free Sprinkler Nozzles Program and the <br /> Reimbursement Payments Associated Therewith <br /> Backqround: <br /> 1. Western and REDWOOD CITY will partner for the sole purpose of extending <br /> Western's FreeSprinklerNozzles.com Program to the residential, commercial <br /> and irrigation customers within the REDWOOD CITY service area. <br /> 2. The FreeSprinklerNozzles.com Program budget which may be available for the <br /> REDWOOD CITY service area, and which may or may not be funded by a full <br /> or partial reimbursement from third party agencies such as the Metropolitan <br /> Water District of Southern California ("MWD"), will seek to incentivize the <br /> installation of 6,000 water-conserving replacement irrigation sprinkler nozzles <br /> during the program offering period of October 15, 2013 to June 30, 2015, within <br /> the REDWOOD CITY service area, up to a maximum budget of$19,500. <br /> 3. Western and REDWOOD CITY have agreed to work together and coordinate <br /> the implementation of the FreeSprinklerNozzles.com Program as set forth in <br /> this Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") and as further described at the <br /> FreeSprinklerNozzles.com website. <br /> 4. Nothing in this Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") shall be deemed to be <br /> the provision of any service or other activity outside of each party's respective <br /> service area, and to the extent the performance of any aspect of this MOU can <br /> be considered a "service," California Government Code Section 54981 permits <br /> a local agency to contract with another local agency for performance by the <br /> latter of municipal services or functions within the territory of the former. The <br /> purpose of this MOU is to facilitate implementation of the <br /> FreeSprinklerNozzles.com Program in order to further each party's <br /> conservation goals.
