01/27/2014 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15319 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON VALOTA <br /> ROAD AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH SILVER AVENUE <br /> WHEREAS, Section 28.07, of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, <br /> states the use of Yield or Stop signs should be considered at locations where a road <br /> user, after stopping, cannot see conflicting traffic and is not able to reasonably safely <br /> negotiate the intersection unless conflicting cross traffic is also required to stop; and <br /> WHEREAS, City staff's investigation has confirmed the existence of this <br /> condition at the subject site. <br /> WHEREAS, as the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the <br /> installation of stop signs on Valota Road at Silver Avenue meets the California <br /> Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption criteria as set forth in Section 15301, <br /> ("Existing Facilities"). Furthermore, this project has been designed compliant with the <br /> city's standards and the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1.
