06/23/2014 ORIGINAL ORDINANCE NO. 2407 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AMENDING DIVISION 4 OF ARTICLE VII OF CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO PARKING IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council adopts the following findings: A. The City Council regularly suspends parking meter rates on holidays and for major city festivals; B. Adopting approved holidays and events will increase staff efficiency; and C. This Ordinance is adopted in accordance with Chapter 9 (STOPPING, STANDING, AND PARKING) of Division 11 of the California Vehicle Code. Section 2. The Redwood City Municipal Code is hereby amended as shown in the following Sections by adding the text shown in underlined italics (example) and deleting the text shown in strikeout (e�a�le).Text in brackets [example] is informational only and need not be published in the Municipal Code. Section 3. Chapter 20, Article VII, Division 4 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 20.133. PROVISIONS FOR TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF METER RATES: A. Parking meter rates shall be suspended and shall not be charged nor due and pavable on the following holidays: January 1, Dr. Martin Luther Kinq. Jr. Day (third Mondav in January), Presidents' Day (third Monday in February), Memorial Day (last Monday in May), Julv 4. Labor Day (first Monday in September), Veterans Day (November 11 , Thanksqivinq Day, and December 25.
