RESOLUTION NO. 14-17 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL DESIGNATE 802 EDGEWOOD ROAD A HISTORIC <br /> LANDMARK AND APPROVE A HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS , on May 8, 2014, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br /> considered and recommended that the residence and property located at 802 <br /> Edgewood Road , Redwood City, California be designated a Historic Landmark; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, on May 8, 2014, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br /> considered and recommended that a Historic Property Preservation Agreement <br /> (also known as a Mills Act Contract) with William Nicolet and Joan de Brine <br /> (collectively, Applicant) be approved for 802 Edgewood Road ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the Historic Resources Advisory Committee has determined <br /> that said property meets the criteria for designation as an historic landmark <br /> according to the historic designation criteria established by the Redwood City <br /> Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Code); and <br /> WHEREAS , on October 7 , 2014, the Planning Commission held a duly <br /> noticed public hearing and considered public comments, the application and <br /> report from the applicant and owner of the subject property, the recommendation <br /> of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee, and staff reports; and <br /> WHEREAS , the residence and property located at 802 Edgewood Road , <br /> Redwood City, California does meet the historic designation criteria established <br /> by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance as follows: <br /> It exemplifies or reflects special elements of the City's cultural , aesthetic <br /> or architectural history. <br /> It embodies distinctive characteristics of a style, type , period or method of <br /> construction , or is a valuable example of the use of indigenous materials <br /> or craftsmanship . <br /> WHEREAS , said property and applicant do qualify for a Historic <br /> Preservation Agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Redwood City and the <br /> residents therein , that said property be designated a Historic Landmark and that <br /> a preservation agreement be approved to assist in the restoration and <br /> preservation of such property. <br /> ATTY/RES0.3027/PC RESO RECOMMENDING HISTORIC LANDMARK 802 EDGWOOD <br /> REV: 09-18-14 VR <br /> Page 1of3 <br />
