05/10/2004 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14583 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY CONTROLLER TO <br />LEVY THE BENEFIT ASSESSMENTS FOR FY 2004 -2005 FOR THE <br />SEAPORT BOULEVARD LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR TO COLLECT SUCH <br />ASSESSMENTS. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, CALIFORNIA AS FOLLOWS: <br />WHEREAS, on July 10, 2000, voters of the Seaport Boulevard Landscape <br />Maintenance District (the "District ") approved, by a vote of 100% yes to 0% no, the levy <br />of a special tax, the amounts of such tax to be annually adjusted under the 5 -year <br />budget as specified in the City Manager's and City Engineer's Reports, heretofore <br />approved by Resolution No. 13905 adopted May 22, 2000 on each non - exempt parcel <br />of land in the district; and <br />WHEREAS, the maximum benefit assessment for fiscal year 2004 -2005 is <br />$164,491.00; and <br />WHEREAS, the District has the need of the services of the offices of the San <br />Mateo County Controller and Tax Collector in levying and collecting the special tax; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby respectfully requests <br />and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Controller to include individual tax <br />assessments in the County tax bills for the fiscal year 2004 -2005 in accordance with <br />ATTY /RESO /RESO.1464 1 14583 <br />042704 Muff # 506 <br />
