All officers and employees of the City and every <br /> department thereof, except those employed for limited, temporary� <br /> seasonal, or spec ial purposes, shall be citizens of the IInited States <br /> at the time of their appointment and shall comply rvith such residence <br /> requirements as are established by this ordinance. <br /> SECTION 2. Every elective officer of the City shall be a resi- <br /> dent of the City at the time of his election or appoint,m�ent and shall <br /> maintain such residence at all times during the term of his office. <br /> SECTION 3. Every permanent employee of the City shall, within <br /> three months subsequent to the termination of his probationary status <br /> pursuant to the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Gity of <br /> Redwood C ity, estab lish and maintain reside�ce within the area des- <br /> cribed in Section 5. Every officer or permanent employee who is not <br /> subject to any probationary period, other than members of any board <br /> or commission appointed by the Council, shall establish and maintain <br /> residence within the area described within Seetion 5 withi.n six <br /> months subsequent to the date of his employment by the City. <br /> SECTION 4. The City Manager may extend the three month period <br /> specified in Section 3 by additional periods not to exceed a total <br /> additional period of three months. Such extensions may be granted by <br /> the City Manager if he finds that an undue hardship would be caused <br /> an employee if the employee were required to establish residence with- <br /> in the period otherwise provided for. Any extension granted shall <br /> be in writing and a copy shall be submitted to the Personnel Board. <br /> SECTION 5. The areas in which employees shall maintain residence <br /> are as follows: <br /> (a) In any area within the corporate City limits as the City <br /> limits now exist or as they may hereafter be extended. <br /> (b) In those areas ontside the corporate limits of t�e City <br /> but contiguous to the City limit$ which are designated on <br /> the followi.ng map: <br /> — N�.�.�.��.�.�,..— ,�.,h., �.., � �,..�.,,. s r � .�,.,�..�.�,� .�.x... . <br /> , M�� ..�. ,�..,aa �.w �..�x <br />
