` • RJC:ek:1/20/59-7 <br /> O R D I N A N C E N O. 928 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB-SECTION (e) OF SECTION 3 <br /> OF ORDINANCE NO. 535 (TAXICAB ORDINANCE) TO PROVIDE <br /> FOR AN ADJUSTMENT IN THE RATES OF FARE CHARGED FOR <br /> TAXI SERVICE IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND, <br /> REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH <br /> TIE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Sub-section (e) of Section 3 of Ordinance No. 535 <br /> entitled An Ordinance Regulating the Use and Operation of Taxicabs <br /> upon the Public Streets of the City of Redwood City, " adopted by <br /> the Council of Redwood City on February 18, 1945, is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> (e) It shall be unlawful for the owner or driver of <br /> any taxicab in the City of Redwood City to fix, <br /> charge or collect for service, a rate more or <br /> less than the following: <br /> 1. For the first one-third mile - 504 <br /> 2. For each additional one-quarter mile - 104 <br /> 3. When carrying passengers whose point <br /> of destination is different, the meter <br /> shall be turned back to the " for hire" <br /> position each time a passenger is dis- <br /> charged and a fare collected. <br /> 4. For each piece of luggage in excess of <br /> two average size traveling bags, or <br /> their equivalent in size, 104 each. <br /> 5. For waiting time, $5 per hour, provided, <br /> however, that charges for waiting time <br /> of less than one hour shall be reduced <br /> proportionately. <br /> 6. Scrip may be issued at a discount of <br /> ten percent upon sale of each five <br /> dollars of scrip tickets as a unit. <br /> Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict <br /> with the terms of this ordinance are to the extent of such conflict <br /> hereby repealed. <br /> Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective thirty ( 30) <br /> days after adoption hereof. <br /> * * * <br />
