P- 2324 <br /> RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING CONSIDERATION <br /> PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT, <br /> OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT RECORD FOR THE <br /> WHARVES 1 AND 2 REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT WITHIN THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS <br /> PERTAINING TO A PROPOSED PROJECT IN CONNECTION <br /> THEREWITH, STATING OVERRIDING CONSIDERATIONS <br /> RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS FROM SAID <br /> PROJECT WHICH CANNOT BE MITIGATED, CERTIFYING THE <br /> FINAL SEIR AND AUTHORIZING FILING OF NOTICE OF <br /> DETERMINATION <br /> (Port of Redwood City — Wharves 1 and 2 Redevelopment <br /> Project — Phase 2) <br /> WHEREAS, the Port of Redwood City by and through its Board of Port <br /> Commissioners (the "Project Proponent" or the "Port") proposes to implement a number <br /> of improvement projects intended to renovate and upgrade some of the presently <br /> dilapidated wharf facilities as well as to realign some of the site's current operations in <br /> order to increase the Port's future throughput potential (the "Project"). The need for the <br /> proposed project stems from the steady growth in cargo throughput that the Port has <br /> experienced over the last 10 years as well as from the poor current physical condition of <br /> the existing structures on the project site; and <br /> WHEREAS, the project site is located in the Port of Redwood City, within the city <br /> of Redwood City boundary and consists of two adjacent sub-areas — the existing Wharves 1 <br /> and 2 (`the wharves") site and the areas that contain the upland Cemex aggregate <br /> operations ("upland areas"); and <br /> RESO P-2324 <br /> shared\PorflReso <br /> DS <br /> 09/14116 <br /> sea"'1 <br />
