REG.ek 1/24/68 <br />R E S O L U T I O N N 0. 51 -Al <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ABANDON A PORTION OF A <br />PUBLIC STREET IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, <br />STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA; <br />SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING ALL PERSONS INTERESTED <br />IN OR OBJECTING TO THE PROPOSED VACATION; AND, ORDERING <br />POSTING OF NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED VACATION <br />WHEREAS, a portion of Elm Street, lying between the south- <br />westerly line of Heller Street and the northeasterly line of <br />Pennsylvania Avenue, in the City of Redwood City, heretofore <br />dedicated as a public street is not needed for present or <br />prospective street purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City intends <br />to vacate and abandon said portion of Elm Street pursuant to <br />the provisions of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and High- <br />ways Code; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City Council hereby declares its intention to <br />vacate a portion of Elm Street, as hereinafter described, and <br />elects to proceed with such vacation and abandonment pursuant <br />to the provisions of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and <br />Highways Code. <br />2. The portion of Elm Street proposed to be vacated is <br />as indicated on that plat on file in the office of the City <br />Clerk entitled "Proposed Abandonment of Elm Street between <br />Heller St. & Pennsylvania Ave." and more particularly described <br />as follows: <br />A portion of Elm Street, lying between the southwesterly <br />line of Heller Street and the northeasterly line of <br />Pennsylvania Avenue, as shown on that certain map <br />entitled "MAP OF THE EASTERN ADDITION REDWOOD CITY", <br />recorded in Volume 2 of Misc. Records at Page 85 and <br />copied into Volume 18 of Maps at Page 6, recorded <br />November 3, 1862 in the office of the Recorder of San <br />Mateo County, California. <br />
