- 3/11/02 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14422 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE <br />APPLICATIONS AND LOAN /GRANT AGREEMENTS FOR THE <br />WATER RECYCLING PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the State Water Resources Control Board ( SWRCB) has <br />established a program for financial assistance of loans and grants for <br />construction of recycled water facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has completed a Recycled Water <br />Feasibility Study for the Redwood Shores Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ( "City ") wishes to apply for a grant <br />and /or loan for the construction of recycled water distribution improvements for <br />the Water Recycling Project (the 'Project'); and <br />WHEREAS, completion of the application process requires execution of a <br />Financial Assistance Application and such other documents as may be specified <br />by the administrator of the grant/loan program; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Submittal of an application for grants and /or loans pursuant to the <br />above - mentioned SWRCB program in an amount not to exceed twenty -two <br />million eighty thousand dollars ($22,080,000) for the planning, design, and <br />construction of Project is hereby approved and ratified. <br />2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a <br />Financial Assistance Application and such other documents (in form subject to <br />the approval of the City Attorney) as may be necessary or appropriate to accept <br />and implement the award of the grant and /or loan and to certify that the City has <br />and will comply with all applicable state and federal statutory and regulatory <br />requirements related to any federal and state loan /grants received. <br />F:Atty /Reso /Reso.1283 1 <br />030402 <br />
