<br /> CES:ms:r'- 6/15/90 (017/8) <br /> Or: ¡ ~ 1 ;·1 !~ L JUL 2 3 1990 <br /> . j ~ir. u¡ I 'H \ <br /> 2023 ! <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2023 <br /> --------- - - <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE PUBLIC <br /> EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO PROVIDE GOVERNMENT CODE <br /> SECTION 20818 (TWO-YEARS ADDITIONAL SERVICE CREDIT) FOR <br /> LOCAL PUBLIC SAFETY MEMBERS <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement Law permits the <br />participation of public agencies and their employees in the <br />Public Employees' Retirement System by the execution of a <br />contract, and sets forth the procedure by which said public <br />agencies may elect to subject themselves and their employees to <br />amendments to said Law; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to amend its <br />agreement with the Board of Administration of the Public <br />Employees' Retirement System in order to provide for Two-Years <br />additional service credit for local public safety employees, <br />pursuant to Government Code Section 20818; and <br /> WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 11323 adopted June 25, 1990, <br />sets forth the intention of the City of Redwood City to approve <br />said amendment to the agreement with the Board of Administration <br />of the Public Employees' Retirement System; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. That an amendment to the Contract between the <br />City of Redwood City and the Board of Administration of the <br />California Public Employees' Retirement System is hereby <br />authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached thereto, <br />
