<br /> SWC:djg-c 9/21/83 <br /> DES:djg-c lO/7/83R <br /> ORlG!NAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1882 oct 24 1983 <br /> --------- <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 3.89, 3.137 AND 3.153, AND <br />REPEALING SECTIONS 3.136, 3.139 OF THE REDWOOD CITY CODE <br />RELATING TO MAINTENANCE OF SIGNS, TEMPORARY SIGN AREA <br />LIMITATIONS, PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF ARTICLE II <br />("SIGNS") OF CHAPTER 3 OF SAID CODE, TEMPORARY SIGN <br />PERMITS, AND PROHIBITION OF CERTAIN SIGNS, RESPECTIVELY <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 3.89 of the Redwood City Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 3.89. Maintenance of Signs. All signs, <br />including signs installed prior to the adoption of <br />this article,shall be constantly maintained in a <br />state of security, safety and good repair. If the <br />building inspector finds that any sign is unsafe <br />or insecure, is a menace to the public safety or <br />has been constructed, erected, relocated or altered <br />after the effective date of this article in violation <br />of the provisions hereof, he shall give written <br />notice to the owner or the tenant of the property <br />wherein it is located to remove or alter such sign. <br />If the owner or tenant fails to comply with the <br />provisions of this article within ten days after <br />such notice, the building inspector may cause such <br />sign to be removed, and the cost thereof shall be <br />paid by the owner or tenant.
