DES:dp:4/14/78 ORDINANCE NO. 1750 ORIGINAL --------- ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1679 AND ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, THE REAL PROPERTY CONVEYANCE TAX ORDINANCE OF THE APR 24 1978 CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND ADDING ARTICLE III (COMMENCING WITH THE ARTICLE HEADING) TO CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ESTABLISHING A DOCUMENTARY TRANSFER TAX ON THE SALE OF REAL PROPERTY, OPERATIVE JULY 1, 1978 THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 1679 entitled "Ordinance Amending Article III (Commencing with the Article Heading) of Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Redwood City Establishing a Real Property Conveyance Tax; and Suspending the Provisions of Ordinance No. 1336, " adopted August 2 , 1976, and Article III of Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Redwood City as amended by said Ordinance No. 1679 are hereby repealed, on and after the date hereinafter specified. SECTION 2. This ordinance, and the article enacted pursuant to Section 3 hereof shall be known as the "Real Property Transfer Tax Ordinance of the City of Redwood City." SECTION 3. Article III (commencing with the article heading) is hereby added to Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, to read as follows: "ARTICLE III. DOCUMENTARY TRANSFER TAX. "SECTION 32.40. This article shall be known as the 'Real Property Transfer Tax Ordinance of the City of Redwood City. , It is adopted pursuant to the authority contained in Part 6.7 (commencing with Section 11901) of Division 2 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California. "SECTION 32.41. There is hereby imposed on each deed, instrument or writing by which any lands, tenements, or other realty sold within the City of Redwood City shall be granted 1750 '1'"
