<br />CGM:dp:2/1/78 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />1 7 4 I fEB 13 1978 <br />Q ~ ~ 1. !i ~ !i £.~. !i Q.. . .. <br />ORDINANCE N1ENDING SECTION 14.38 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY RELA.TING TO THE DEFINITION OF RUBBISH <br /> <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 14.38 ot the Code of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />~Section 14.38. All weeds and all dirt, rubbish, <br /> <br />and rank growths of any kind, on private property or in <br /> <br />any street or alley or public right-of-way in the city, <br /> <br />shall constitute a public nuisance. <br /> <br />"Every property owner, lessee or occupant ot buildings, <br /> <br />grounds or lots, shall destroy or remove weeds, dirt, rubbish, <br /> <br />and/or rank growths from the property, buildings, grounds or <br /> <br />lots, and from the half of the street, alley or public <br /> <br />right-of-way on which the property abuts, in accordance <br /> <br />with the procedures prescribed in this article. <br /> <br />"For the purposes of this article, the fOllowing <br /> <br />definitions shall apply: <br /> <br />"(1) 'Weeds' includes any of the following: <br /> <br />"(a) Weeds which bear seeds of a downy or <br />wingy nature. <br /> <br />"(b) Any brush or weeds which attain such <br />large growth as to become, when dry, a <br />fire menace to adjacent improved property. <br /> <br />"(c) Weeds which are otherwise noxious or dangerous. <br /> <br />"(d) Poison oak and poison ivy when the conditions <br />of growth are such as to constitute a menace <br />to the public health. <br /> <br />"(e) Dry grass, stubble, brush, litter, or other <br />flammable material which endangers the public <br />safety by creating a fire hazard. <br /> <br />"(2) 'Rubbish' includes all bottles, crockery, tin cans, <br />metal vessels, shells, plaster, tires, rags, papers, <br />boxes, packing material, shavings, straw, and other <br />similar materials. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 741 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />'T-O· <br />
