ORDINANCE N1ENDING SECTION 14.38 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELA.TING TO THE DEFINITION OF RUBBISH THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 14.38 ot the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: ~Section 14.38. All weeds and all dirt, rubbish, and rank growths of any kind, on private property or in any street or alley or public right-of-way in the city, shall constitute a public nuisance. "Every property owner, lessee or occupant ot buildings, grounds or lots, shall destroy or remove weeds, dirt, rubbish, and/or rank growths from the property, buildings, grounds or lots, and from the half of the street, alley or public right-of-way on which the property abuts, in accordance with the procedures prescribed in this article. "For the purposes of this article, the fOllowing definitions shall apply: "(1) 'Weeds' includes any of the following: "(a) Weeds which bear seeds of a downy or wingy nature. "(b) Any brush or weeds which attain such large growth as to become, when dry, a fire menace to adjacent improved property. "(c) Weeds which are otherwise noxious or dangerous. "(d) Poison oak and poison ivy when the conditions of growth are such as to constitute a menace to the public health. "(e) Dry grass, stubble, brush, litter, or other flammable material which endangers the public safety by creating a fire hazard. "(2) 'Rubbish' includes all bottles, crockery, tin cans, metal vessels, shells, plaster, tires, rags, papers, boxes, packing material, shavings, straw, and other similar materials. 1 741 'T-O·
