<br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />DES:d~k 02/17/93 (051/34) <br />DES:d 02/25/93R <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11946 <br /> <br />3/1/93 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF COMPUTER EQUIPMENT <br />UNDER THE COOPERATIVE PURCHASE PROVISIONS OF REDWOOD <br />CITY CODE SECTION 2.80 AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />PURCHASE DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.76 of the Redwood City Code, <br />this Council has suspended the requirements of Article VII of <br /> <br />Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City relating to <br /> <br />competitive bidding for the hereinafter described purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Police <br /> <br />Department <br /> <br />requires <br /> <br />36 <br /> <br />personal <br /> <br />computers, 3 laser printers and 38 software packages (36 for the <br /> <br />new computers and 2 for existing computers) <br /> <br />(the "Equipment") to <br /> <br />use <br /> <br />independently, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />conjunction <br /> <br />with <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />consolidated <br /> <br />system as well as during times of local emergency at the new <br /> <br />police facility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that the most <br /> <br />economical method of purchasing the Equipment is pursuant to an <br /> <br />agreement between the City of Antioch and Communications Research <br /> <br />Corporation <br /> <br />under <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />provisions <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Code <br /> <br />authorizing inter-agency cooperative purchases, <br /> <br />upon a finding <br /> <br />that the City of Antioch makes such purchases under competitive <br /> <br />bidding requirements substantially equivalent to those of this <br /> <br />City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Code <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />2.80 <br /> <br />establishes <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />procedure for purchasing materials, equipment or supplies through <br /> <br />bidding procedures implemented by other public agencies; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1.
