<br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />DES:d1k 02/02/93 (047/34) <br />DES:d. 02/08/93R <br />2/8/93 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />11934 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF PUBLIC SAFETY ALARM <br />PAGING SYSTEMS AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF PURCHASE <br />DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.76 of the Redwood City Code, <br /> <br />this Council has suspended the requirements of Article VII of <br /> <br />Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City relating to <br /> <br />competitive bidding for the hereinafter described purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Police <br /> <br />Department <br /> <br />requires <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />Public <br /> <br />Safety <br /> <br />Alarm Paging System for the emergency dispatch center at the <br /> <br />Ci ty' s new police facility to operate in conjunction with the <br /> <br />City's fire department facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the hereinafter described equipment is required to <br /> <br />conform to pre-existing conditions at the City's fire stations <br /> <br />and is available from a single source only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to approve the purchase and <br /> <br />upgrades <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />said <br /> <br />paging <br /> <br />systems <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />an <br /> <br />amount <br /> <br />not <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />exceed <br /> <br />Nineteen Thousand Dollars ($19,000.00); <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />This Council hereby approves the purchase of a Zetron <br /> <br />Ring Down Paging System and the upgrading of the paging systems <br /> <br />at the fire stations from Communications Research Corporation in <br /> <br />an amount not to exceed Nineteen Thousand Dollars ($19,000.00). <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />execute all documents required in connection with the purchase <br /> <br />and upgrade <br /> <br />authorized <br /> <br />herein <br /> <br />(in <br /> <br />form <br /> <br />approved by <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Attorney) for and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />
