Present were Commissioners: Ralph Case, .uonald <br />Bogie, Jack Poole, Mrs. Anna Bennett Robb, Andrew Spinae, <br />William Hanley, Izzy Gold; Park Superintendent, Pasco <br />Balzarini, 'Recreation Director, Red Morton. <br /> <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Absent: Clement Baume and H. Stout. Mr. Baume informed <br />the Recreation Office that he was unable to attend the meeting <br />due to his work on the evening of the 18th.' <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />William Hanley stated that he will meet with Alfred Morton <br />at 10:00 a.m. Saturday to set firta1-p1ans for the dedication bf <br />the pool. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />- -- <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />MSC by C~issioners Poole md Hanley that the request of <br />Allan McKay asking permission to have a concession at t he swimming' <br />pool be denied due to his age. It was the commissions thought <br />that the city could not enter into an agreement mth a juvenile. <br />They also felt that it would be better not to have a concession <br />during the first season because it would add another .cleaning <br />up problem and bring up the cost of maintaining and operating the <br />pool. <br /> <br />A letter fÐam the Menlo Park Sea Scouts addressed to Mayor <br />Carl Britsch~i was t~ned over to ~e Recreation C~ission. The <br />Menlo 'Park Sea Scouts are delinquent in their berth rental at <br />the Yacht Harbor and stated that they will soon clear it up. They <br />asked if it was possible to obtain cheaper rental on their berth. <br /> <br />MSC by Commissioners Gold and Poole that the request for <br />cheaper berth rental for "the Menlo Sea Scouts be denied. <br /> <br /> <br />A petition from the Wellesley Park District requesting the <br />Park and Recreation Department to install ~playground equipment in <br />Wellesley Crescent Park. After considerable discussion the <br />Commission felt that if equipment was installed at this area, it <br />would be a hazard due to its location of having streets completely <br />around i t. . They also felt that Lincoln school grounds is only a <br />few blocks away and there is sufficient playground equipment and <br />offers after school ~p1ayground supervision by the Recreation Dept. <br /> <br />MSC by Commissioners Gold and Robb that the Commission go,on <br />record as not favoring the project. <br /> <br />. A report on the bridge at Community, Redwood City Armory, <br />Stafford Park C~fort Station was ordered carried 00 ~e next ~enda. <br /> <br />'" .. <br />
