<br />139 <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK'AND RECREÞ..TION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Regular Meeting, July. 26th 1949 <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ralph Case at 7:46 p.m. <br />present were: Chairman Ralph Case, Commissioners Mrs. B.S. Mayo, Mrs. Anna <br />Bennett Robb, Jack Poole, 'illi~ Hanley, and Donald Bogie. <br />Pasco Balzarini, Chester Hetner, and Marietta Dodge. <br /> <br />The matter of the Hoover School Recreation Building has been referred <br />to the City Council so the Commission could not act on this matter yet. The <br />matter of the swi~ming pool is also awaiting action by the City Council. <br /> <br />There was a motion by Mr. Poole that" The Redwood City Council return <br />'Nicotine Field' to the Sequoia High School District inasmuch as they are <br />using part of this field now and would like to acquire all of it to facilitate <br />further use of the grounds~ The Sequoia High School District has ~ut in a new <br />turf on a portion of the field and also have'tapped into the city water line <br />therefore using city water to care for the turf.~ This motion was seconded by <br />!\~. Hanley and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />There was a motion by Mr. Hanley that "The Commission recommend that <br />the Redwood City Council request the San Francisco Water Department to give a <br />revocable permit for use of the land opposite 450 Redwood Avenue as per Mr. <br />,John Bauman's letter, providing insurance and supervision can be satisfactorily <br />arranged.. This motion was seconded by Mrs. Robb and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />The sunmler recreation program was SQ~arized by Miss Marietta Dodge. <br /> <br />A report was made to the Commission relative to the Coca Cola Company <br />wanting to put their machine back in the Recreation Center at a lower cost. <br />The Commdssion went on record with a unan~ous vote to continue doing business <br />with A~. Br1zee of the Kist Bottling Co. <br /> <br />A tenative outline for a May program at the Recreation Center to raise <br />money and inform the public of the work of the Recreation Department was <br />presented. <br /> <br />No further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />." <br />',. <br />, <br /> <br />i <br />'i <br /> <br />
