Present were Commissioners Donald Bogie, Eloise Camp- <br />bell, Catherine Brennan, Fred Hector, H. S. Stout, Park Superintendent- <br />Pasco Balzarini, Alfred Olson, and Recreation Director Alfred Morton. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Irving Gold, Ralph Case, and Andrew Spinas. <br /> <br />The minutes of the April 2nd, 1952 meeting we~e approved as <br /> <br />read. <br /> <br />A report by Mrs. Cempbell that a letter was sent to the Board <br />of Trustees of the Sequoia Union High School in regard to the fees <br />and charges. She will be in a position to report back at the next <br />regular meeting. <br /> <br />MSC by Commissioners Campbell end Bogie that the Park Depart- <br />ment budget be appro~ed as submitted by Pasco Balzarini. <br /> <br />MSC by Commissioners Campbell and Bogie that the following <br />additions be made to the Park Department budget for the 1952-53 <br />fiscal year: <br /> <br />1. Rest Rooms at Hawes Park <br /> <br />$ 3,000.00 <br />35.00 <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Signs on all city Parks and Playgrounds <br /> <br />3. Hawes Park Parking Area on Hudson St. <br /> <br />4. Westwood Terrace development. <br />(~proval of the City ~gineer on the <br />grading and drainage) <br /> <br />1,500.00 <br /> <br />5. .s~~ Terrace devel~~nt #1 <br /> <br />1,500.00 <br />200.00 <br /> <br />MSC by Commissioners Campbell and Bogie that the following <br />additions be made to the Recreation Department Budget for the <br />1952-53 fiscal year: <br /> <br />1. Westwood Terrace #1 <br /> <br />$ <br /> <br />300.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Lee from the Westwood Terrace #2 spoke in regard to the <br />play area for this area. He stated that the park would be graded <br />by the end of May. He also stated that the drainage problem should <br />not be as great as lest year and that the streets should carry the <br />runoff. He felt that the city was very fortunate in obtaining this <br />site from the Sterling developers. <br />
