The meeting was called to order by the Chairman William Hanley at 8 :00 P .1'1. Present were Commissioners Donald Bogie, Eloise Camp- bell, Catherine Brennan, Fred Hector, H. S. Stout, Park Superintendent- Pasco Balzarini, Alfred Olson, and Recreation Director Alfred Morton. Absent: Irving Gold, Ralph Case, and Andrew Spinas. The minutes of the April 2nd, 1952 meeting we~e approved as read. A report by Mrs. Cempbell that a letter was sent to the Board of Trustees of the Sequoia Union High School in regard to the fees and charges. She will be in a position to report back at the next regular meeting. MSC by Commissioners Campbell end Bogie that the Park Depart- ment budget be appro~ed as submitted by Pasco Balzarini. MSC by Commissioners Campbell and Bogie that the following additions be made to the Park Department budget for the 1952-53 fiscal year: 1. Rest Rooms at Hawes Park $ 3,000.00 35.00 2. Signs on all city Parks and Playgrounds 3. Hawes Park Parking Area on Hudson St. 4. Westwood Terrace development. (~proval of the City ~gineer on the grading and drainage) 1,500.00 5. .s~~ Terrace devel~~nt #1 1,500.00 200.00 MSC by Commissioners Campbell and Bogie that the following additions be made to the Recreation Department Budget for the 1952-53 fiscal year: 1. Westwood Terrace #1 $ 300.00 Mr. Lee from the Westwood Terrace #2 spoke in regard to the play area for this area. He stated that the park would be graded by the end of May. He also stated that the drainage problem should not be as great as lest year and that the streets should carry the runoff. He felt that the city was very fortunate in obtaining this site from the Sterling developers.
