<br />REGULAR MEETING, AUGUST ),1955

<br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation C~ission was called
<br />to order by Chai~an Irving Gold at 8:00 p.m. Present were: Catherine
<br />&ennm, Gerry Verssen, Ma~ice Sch~z, llyn &als, Irving Gold,
<br />Ai~inistrative Assistant Orin Wendling, PasCO Balzarini, and Alfred
<br />~Æorton. Noted absent were Louise Torne 11 and William Han]~ey.

<br />MSC Ger~ ~rssen and li~ Beals that the mi~es ~ the previous
<br />meeting be approved as mailed.

<br />Miss Kay SMdas ~ported that ilia ne~ District IV C.R.S. meeting rill
<br />be held in Redwood City. at the Nipa hut, September 15, 1955 at 7 p.m.

<br />A letter from City Clerk Dodge was read regarding tree planting along
<br />El Camino Real and \ftJ'hipple to Broadway. MSC .Alyn Beals and t~aurice
<br />Schutz that a letter be written to the city manager that proper a~tion
<br />will be taken on it.
<br />
<br />Because of a.nether appointment Mr. Andres Oddstad. was allowed by
<br />chal~an Gold to break into the agenda to present a map of the s~divislori
<br />of the "Fgrm Hills" showing and explaining the proposed bridle path,
<br />mining locations, club house building as it stands and the proposes
<br />roe~ds, e tc. Gold, T~orton and Schutz are to meet wi th Mr. Odàstad next
<br />week to discuss various plans on "F~rm Hills".

<br />A letter from City Clerk and Alfred Morton regarding request to permit
<br />children of the County Receiving Home to use the facilities of the
<br />city's swimming pool without the customary charges. MSC Alyn Beals
<br />aad Gerry Verssen recommended approval to the city council.
<br />
<br />Park Superintendent advised the Commission that the hazard at Community
<br />Park had been completed.
<br />
<br />Irving 301d reported on the Hawes Park Switch. The final price was
<br />$31,000 and only the legal action is necessary to complete the transaction
<br />~!r. Gold asked Mr. M'orton to look into the cost of lighting Communi ty
<br />Park and report at the next meeting.
<br />
<br />In the B.bsence of Commissi coer Torfne 11 the Park and Recrea tl on
<br />Foundation report will be held over to th'e next meeting.
<br />
<br />In the absence of Commissioner Han.ley, 'Maurice Schutz reported that the
<br />City engineer is making a complete study of the Port, widening the
<br />channel and that the Yacht Harbor project is in progress.
<br />
<br />Irving Gold reported progress and the Memorial Building bids will be
<br />opened August 11, 195.5 qt a special meeting of the ci ty council.
